We Always Make It Work: Faith Lessons from Business, Wife, and Motherhood

If there’s one thing I remind my husband and my kids daily, it’s this simple truth: We always make it work.

I started saying it during tough seasons — when the bills were due, when orders slowed down, or when life just felt heavier than usual. It became my reminder that no matter what we face, God always makes a way. Over time, it turned into a family affirmation. And now, my youngest loves to say it back to me whenever they see me stressed: “Mama, we always make it work.” She made me do a double take the other day when she said it to me helping me make teas for an upcoming event.

That’s faith in action — not just in business, but in marriage and motherhood too.

I even find myself reminding my husband sometimes. When life is life-ing and things feel uncertain, I’ll look at him and say, “Bae you know we always make it work.” And we do — because God gon ALWAYS spin that block about HIS children.

Faith as the Foundation

Five years ago, in the middle of a global pandemic, I started Love And Beyond Services. No perfect timing. No big investors. Just a dream, faith, and a lot of determination.

Back then, I was slanging teas out of Capri Sun bags — handwritten with a Sharpie pen — and my first Doula client? Free. Didn't charge her anything. I didn’t have a fancy setup, but I had a heart to serve and a belief that God would bless what I was building.

Trust me when I say you can do this — whatever your “this” is.

Faith isn’t just my backup plan — it’s the foundation this business, this marriage, this family is built on. Christ IS the solid rock I stand on.

Faith in Business, Wifehood, and Motherhood

In my business, faith shows up in the small things:

  • Tithing from my earnings, even when it would be “easier” not to. Even if its just one order. Run God HIS 10%.

  • Praying over new products before they launch.

  • Trusting God to bring the right customers — the ones who truly need what I create.

  • In my marriage, it’s remembering that love is a choice every day, choosing patience, grace, and prayer even on the hard days.

  • It’s speaking life and encouragement over my husband when he needs it most, and reminding both of us that God's got us ALWAYS.

  • In motherhood, it's the daily surrender, asking God for the wisdom to parent, the strength to endure, and the heart to lead by example.

Entrepreneurship teaches you patience, marriage teaches you partnership, and motherhood teaches you surrender. But faith? Faith teaches you trust IN EVERYTHING.

Faith Over Fear

Fear has a way of creeping in — and it can be crippling. It can make you shut down, question everything you’re doing, and even feel like giving up. But let me remind you: that is a lie from Satan himself.

When you feel that fear rising up, know that it is not from God.

God never said fear wouldn’t try to come. But He did say that He never gave us the spirit of fear.

“For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

Every time fear tries to pull me under, I go back to the truth I tell my kids, my husband, and myself: We always make it work. Not because of luck, or hustle alone, but because God is in it.

My life is living proof that obedience — even when it’s scary — leads to blessings.

Encouragement for You

If you're building something right now — a business, a marriage, a family, a dream — and it feels heavy or uncertain, I want to remind you: Keep the faith. Trust that what you are sowing now will bloom in due season.

Keep praying.

Keep showing up.

Keep believing.

As it says in Habakkuk 2:3:

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time...though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come.”

And here’s one more for the journey:

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” — Ecclesiastes 4:12

Closing

Faith isn't just part of my business — it’s the foundation of my life. Business, wifehood, motherhood — all of it is built on trust in God. And if there’s one thing I know, it’s this: We always make it work.
